He is not here; He is Risen!

This is my most favorite time of the year! I love recognizing how Jesus defeated death and rose again! Although, we should be praising Him for this everyday, but it is so cool that it all happened at this time so many years ago. Before I get into talking about the resurrection of Jesus, lets talk about the crucifixion. Recently I have been really studying about this throughout scripture and how there is prophecy about the death of Jesus and what He was going to go through. “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

Jesus willingly took our place. That’s the reason why he came down as a human. He knew He had to be the sacrifice. He willingly died for us, but He was also scared about it and asked God if there was another way. “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will but yours be done. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.” Luke 22: 42,44                          As we can see in this scripture, Jesus was so nervous and pretty scared, He even sweated blood! But He knew it had to be done, He thought of us. Jesus went through the most painful death anyone could ever face. It was hard for me to read through the crucifixion of what they did to my precious King. They mocked Him, slapped Him, beat Him, placed a crown of thorns on His head, ripped His skin to the bone, made Him carry the cross to Calvary, they drove nails through His hands and His feet, and He hung there for hours on the cross. Jesus was perfect and did not sin and didn’t deserve it, but we deserved it because we are sinful people. So He took our place and died for all of our sins. Jesus is so powerful, He could’ve come down from the cross or got His angels to come down and destroy everyone, or He could’ve just said forget about it. But He didn’t. He loves us so much so He took the pain. He knew people hated Him, will hate Him, and will reject Him, but He did it anyways because He is love. It just blows my mind that Jesus went through this for us!

The story does not end here! They placed Jesus’ body in the tomb and 3 days later the stone rolled away and He arose! Jesus defeated death, and He conquered the grave! How awesome is that? Now we have hope in Jesus that one day we will be with Him for eternity. And now we can have a relationship with Jesus on earth! He is not dead, He is alive! We can rejoice in knowing that He is alive! Oh how I would’ve loved to be there the day the stone rolled away. It would be so cool to see that! Praise Jesus for what He did! He went through so much to be with you and to show you His love. I encourage you to really read through the Bible and study it. Study the crucifixion and resurrection. Get to know Jesus more on this earth and rejoice that one day we will see Him face to face! Happy Easter everyone!

“He is not here; He has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” Matthew 28:6

Also, I want you to watch this video!! This is a video of a group of people at the actual tomb of Jesus, worshiping where He arose from the grave! Every time I watch this I get chill bumps, how awesome would it be to worship at the actual grave where Jesus was laid? This definitely will get you excited about how we serve a risen King!

Your Name Is Victory…

Hello beauties, Happy Good Friday!!!

This has to be one of my favorite times of the year. All the bright colors and blooming flowers of spring brings me so much joy, but what ultimately excites me about this time is celebrating what Jesus did for me and for YOU (Mark 15).

He selflessly died on that old rugged cross, so that us sinners didn’t have to. He died so that you could live in complete freedom, and so that you could have VICTORY over your past and that it would no longer define who you are. He was whipped and beaten down to his bear bones (literally), made fun of, and spit on so that your sins could be forgiven and so that you could receive His grace. When I sit and truly think about all that Jesus went through for ME, not only does it move me to tears,  but I feel so unexplainably and amazingly loved. It gives me even more of a passion to share Jesus with others, and to reflect Him in everything I do. He paid it ALL for me, so how could I dare just sit back and not share His word and spread His love with others that don’t know Him?! I don’t know about you, but my life would be an utter disaster if I didn’t know the unconditional love of my heavenly Father. So today (and every other day), I encourage you to sit back and TRULY think about all that Jesus did for YOU, and to reflect Jesus and His love in all of your actions because you never know who’s life you could be impacting!

Love,

Lindsey
